The Splendour

The Splendour press shot

Brighton-based indie rockers The Splendour approached Jonny after their record label went bust shortly prior to the release of their debut album “The Best Way To Make Money” in 2008. With the album – recorded by Kasabian producer Dan Swift – ready to go, the band were keen to release it themselves, but needed guidance and the necessary infrastructure in place to be able to do so.

Coming on board for a full label management deal, Jonny helped the band to set up their own Tinyclan label to release the album, then handled all aspects of the album’s release, including:

  • A&R’ing the recording sessions down to a cohesive album
  • Manufacturing the album and it’s singles
  • Devising a release strategy
  • Devising a release timeline
  • Sourcing a professional photographer
  • Sourcing a designer and working on the art concepts
  • Sourcing a booking agent to arrange a full UK tour
  • Engaging pluggers for press, radio, online and TV

The Splendour square up to the Kaiser Chiefs and flog Ricky Wilson’s skinny-twat arse!’
Stephen Brolan, The Fly Magazine

‘Well done to The Splendour – sounds good, reminds me of toast popping… as in ’Good morning your toast is ready’ (!)
Zane Lowe, Radio 1

‘guitars caper like pantomime villains in an Arctics style’
NME

‘Playful, clever, striking, confident, chic , upbeat and crisp!’
Nathan Westley – Artrocker
