This Week at The Hook Up

Our Clients In The Press

With a little help from The Hook Up, our very own birdeatsbaby has been given a mention in The Independent’s ‘The Critics: Choice of 2012′ alongside the likes of Azari & III, Sweet Sweet Lies and The Phenomenal Handclap Band. Brighton gig mag The Source has also written a piece on the band and their forthcoming release ‘Feast of Hammers’ while the band’s new video for ‘Incitatus’ received its premiere slot over at FAME Magazine.

With their new album packed and ready to go for the 20th of February, their new merch looking good and the new video for Incitatus just released it’s been a busy week for Birdeatsbaby.

In other news, we’ve managed to land Johnny Wore Black a piece previewing his latest single in prestigious metal mag Metal Hammer. The single features Megadeth’s Dave Ellefson and is being released as a charity single in aid of Help For Heroes.

Johnny Wore Black will be playing at the Bull & Gate in Kentish Town on Monday. The single is out on the 6th of February.

Our Clients Online

This week at The Hook Up, we have been spreading the word about The Cry Baby‘s new song ‘I Just Got Smaller’ by giving the track away… For free! The track went up on Facebook and Soundcloud last Friday as a sneak peak of their upcoming EP. As well as sharing their guilty pleasures with FAULT Magazine, the band have been featured on Optical Radio, R&R World and ArenaCast this week, in addition to their fantastic Strongroom Session hitting Youtube.

With the new EP looming, the band have decided to hold a remix competition for their single ‘Funeral’! In an effort to get a new spin on their sound, The Cry Baby are looking for someone who can turn the track upside down and create a remix worthy of a spot on the EP. Stems are being downloaded fast and the contest is being featured on LaptopRockers. Good luck to all the entries!

Check out their Strongroom Session here:

To enter the Funeral remix contest, head over to their group on Soundcloud and get involved.

Tune in next time for more updates from The Hook Up.
